BELIEF recommendation Guide
You want to involve stakeholders and citizens in your local energy policy? Turn over a new LIEF!
The BELIEF recommendation Guide was designed to help you unite stakeholders and citizens around common objectives and projects, especially in the so-called local energy Forums, and consequently to develop a participative local energy policy.
This Guide is the result of a joint effort which involved the networking of representatives from 20 towns and cities in 11 European countries who set up Forums in their own municipalities. Some were highly experienced, others were less advanced. It is based on their practical experience and will, therefore, always be very close to your own concerns.
This Guide contains principles, methods, examples and testimonies of mayors, deputy mayors and local stakeholders who found the local energy Forums to be one of the best participative processes to help reach the 3x20% EU energy and climate objectives by 2020.
We trust it will prove a useful tool.
